Broomfield's sports day consisted of sport competitions in football, benchball, basketball and table tennis. In the afternoon each student participated in one athletic event. The day ran smoothly thanks to all the staff working together and the students enjoyed themselves with many beating their PB's!
Anning won the basketball with 35 points with Newton taking a close second place with 31 points.
Anning and Newton gathered 47 points each to take 1st place in the benchball competition.
In the football competition Franklin won with a substantial 23 points!
Anning strove ahead in the table tennis competition to win with 12 points.
Finally, in the athletics all winners were awarded a gold medal. Notable performances were made by;
Roberto, in year 9, who sprinted a fast 100m with a time of 12.68s,
Aalia, in year 8, who sprinted a quick 200m with a time of 32.57s,
Artur in year 10 who ran the 800m in 2m48s,
Zion in year 10 who jumped a whopping 1m45cm in the high jump,
Daniel C in year 7 who jumped a huge 4m30cm in the long jump,
Blake in year 8 jumped a massive 7m in the triple jump,
Rochelle in year 10 who threw, a new PB, of 18m in the javelin and last but not least
Tasin who threw a magnificent 24m in the discus!
Overall, Newton came 4th with 210 points, Dalton (279 points) was narrowly beat by Franklin (290 points) to come 3rd. Meaning that the 2019 winners of sports day is Anning with a grand total of 375 points!
