Head's Welcome

Welcome to Broomfield School. Many of our readers will be looking for their secondary school for September 2021. We hope that you find our website interesting and informative. Unfortunately, visits to the school are currently not possible however we hold online Roadshows throughout the year. Should this time not be convenient simply contact Reception to arrange a more suitable time.

We are very pleased to inform you that following the most recent GCSE results - summer 2019 - the Department for Education shows Broomfield School for the Progress 8 of its pupils to be at the national average. If you wish to look at these results more closely, please click here. (Please remember Summer 2020 results have not been recorded due to the Pandemic).

Progress 8 is the important new government measure to show how well schools are doing,  “Progress 8 tells us how well pupils at this school have progressed between the end of primary school (key stage 2) and the end of secondary school (key stage 4), compared to pupils in other schools who got similar results at the end of primary school. This is based on results in up to 8 qualifications, which include English, maths, 3 qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and 3 other additional approved qualifications”. DfE website January, 2017.

Our results at Broomfield School are a testament to the hard work and talent of our pupils and staff, and the high quality of education at Broomfield School.

As a school serving the community, our vision is to provide your sons and daughters with the very best education. We want our pupils to excel in all of the many dimensions that make up education in its fullest sense. Firstly, and centrally, we aim for our pupils to reach their full potential, to excel academically, vocationally and culturally, but also physically and in sports, as well as in their social, spiritual and moral lives. In this way, when your sons and daughters come to leave Broomfield School, they will be knowledgeable, intelligent, well qualified, highly skilled, virtuous and well-rounded individuals able to play their full part in society.

At our most recent Ofsted one-day inspection - November 2018 - Broomfield School was been judged a Good school. Below are some extracts from the fuller earlier report.
