Ms Christofi - New Headteacher

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as the new headteacher for Broomfield School, and I’m very keen to get to know parents, as well as pupils and staff.

From my experience of being a Vice Principal for 13 years in a Waltham Forest school, I know that a successful and happy school will be a result of us working together.

Broomfield School is on an upwards journey and from my various visits prior to taking up the post, I was overwhelmed with the kind natured students and staff. I am looking forward to finding out more about the school so that the changes we make in this new chapter are supported by the whole school community.   I can assure you that I will lead the school with a relentless drive to ensure that your child has the best possible educational experience.  They will have high quality lessons, a huge range of enrichment opportunities and the best advice and guidance for education beyond year 11, which will ultimately prepare them for 21st century life.

Inevitably there will be high expectations from all of our young people, whether that be in terms of having excellent behaviour both in and out of school; adhering to the uniform policy;  completing home learning or showing great character by being kind and respectful towards others. As a result of Covid, schools nationally have faced challenges with staffing, student behaviour, mental health and ongoing issues of  social media on young minds. Parents make an important contribution to children’s achievements at school, and I want to develop the relationship between the school and parents for everyone’s benefit, but which ultimately has the shared goal of every child succeeding  and ‘living life with purpose’.

I have already started spending time at Broomfield getting to know our pupils and staff and I am looking forward to meeting our parents.

On Monday 20th June at 6pm we will hold an ‘Evening with Ms Christofi’ , an opportunity to meet me, hear about my vision for the future of Broomfield and speak to the Senior Leadership Team.

I will be writing to you shortly as part of our consultation on the schools Behaviour Policy which is being reviewed for September. Pupil, parent and staff consultation and engagement is vital to the successful implementation of this policy and I look forward to working with you all to develop a successful, fair and inclusive approach.

I will also be holding several Headteacher’s surgery sessions this half term in June to bring to my attention any concerns that you have.  Appointments can be booked by clicking on the link here:

I look forward to working alongside you as your child journeys through Broomfield School.

Yours faithfully,

Adele Christofi
