Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development

Broomfield school believes in educating the whole child and through our curriculum, our pastoral systems and our enrichment programme we aim to provide for the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of our pupils. We acknowledge that part of our role is to develop young people's ability to make informed moral decisions and to recognise the difference between right and wrong. Moreover we actively promote certain moral values; these include democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs. These are British values, but we believe they are also universal values and they run throughout our assembly programme, form time tutorials, RE and Citizenship curriculums.

The extra-curricular programme is also central to this Pupils have the opportunity to attend extra-curriclar activities in all subject areas of the school and there is a wide and varied programme of visiting speakers, workshops and trips.
